Tribal elder dead, 27 wounded in roadcrashes
SAR-I-PUL CITY/QALAT(Pajhwok): One passenger was killed and 27 others including tribal elderswere injured in three separate road accidents in Samangan and Zabul provinces, officials said on Monday.
Some government officials and tribal elders of Balkhab districtwere on their way to a meeting with appointed Sar-i-Pul governor when their vehicle turned turtlein the Dara-i-Sawf district of Samangan province.
Mohammad Parsa, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News one person died and a woman was among 14 others wounded in the mishap that occurred at 9.00am.
A tribal elder died in the incident, in which two others were injured critically, said the Balkhab district’s administrative head, Mohammad Amin Sharifyar.
Meanwhile, nine people including children and women were injuredwhen the vehicle carrying them collided with a van on the Kabul-Kandahar highwayin Zabul province, said the Shahr-i-Safa district police chief, Gul Mohammad.
Separately, four people were wounded as a car crashed into a passenger bus in Shah-i-Safa district at 11:30am, said the deputy police chief, Ghulam Jilani Farahi.
