Shpagheeza: Amu Crocodiles, Spin Ghar Lions victorious

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Amu Crocodiles and Spin Ghar Lions on Thursday won their matches in the Shpagheeza Twenty20 tournament underway in the Kabul International Cricket stadium.

The Afghanistaninfo-icon’s biggest annual cricketing contest got off on Tuesday after a glitzy show of fireworks and a riot of colours at the Kabul International Stadium.

Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News the first match of the day was played between Amu Crocodiles and Bust Guards.

The crocodiles won the toss and elected to bowl in the 20 overs game. Bust Guards piled up 140 and set the Amu Crocodiles 141 runs target for the loss of five wickets.

For the guards, Imran Jannat made impressive 52 runs and Khyber Omar 43. For the Amu Crocodiles, Javed Ahmad clinched four wickets.

Hotak said the Amu team chased the target in the 19th over for the loss of four wickets with Mirwais Ashraf contributing 43 runs, Younas Ahmadi 27, Karim Sadiq 19, Samim Sultani 18 and Javed Ahmadi 16.

The second match was played between Spin Ghar Lions and Kabul Mashal in the afternoon, with Sin Ghar winning.

Kabul Mashal played first and made 105 runs after facing 19 overs. The Spin Ghar team chased the target in the 16th over and won the match by five wickets.
