Taliban did not hang IS fighters over beheadings: NDS
IS gunmen abducted the seven people, including four women and a child from Jaghori district of southern Ghazni province and decapitated them in Arghandab district of Zabul.
Some media reports quoted Taliban on Monday as claiming that they had executed by hanging some IS fighters on the charge of beheading civilians.
But the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in a statement rejected the reports, saying the IS militants had been killed during infighting after splitting into several groups. “In order to hide their crimes, the Taliban make such statements,” the statement said.
It said NDS officials had rescued eight abducted people including five men, two women and a boy from Ghanzi. The released people were part of a 31-member group of civilians who had been kidnapped last year.
