US embassy denounces decapitation of civilians in Zabul
Daesh fighters had abducted the seven residents of the Jaghori district of Ghazni province last month and decapitated them on Sunday in Khak-i-Afghan district. The victims also included four men, whose bodies were handed over to Jaghori residents.
A day earlier, President Ghani condemned the beheading of civilians, especially the women and the child, in the strongest possible terms, saying the outrageous act symbolised the enemy’s defeat and desperation.
A press release from the US embassy said: “As President Ghani noted in his recent statement, the killing of innocents has no justification in any religion or creed. We offer our sincere condolences to the victims’ families.”
