Ministers to meet European envoys on Afghan refugees’ plight

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The government said on Friday it would have a meeting with ambassadors of European counties in Kabul in the near future on resolving problems of Afghan refugees.

Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani and Refugee and Repatriation Affairs Minister Syed Husain Alami Balkhi discussed the problems of the Afghan refugees in Europelast night.

The ministers decided to hold a joint meeting with the ambassadors of European countries next week, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The ambassadors would be urged to keep insecurity and winter-related problems in Afghanistaninfo-icon before deciding on deportingthe refugees. They expected a sympathetic decision on the fate of the Afghans.

According to reports, first lady Rula Ashraf Ghani visited Germany to ask European officials to show generosity in giving asylum to the Afghan refugees.
