JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A dozen militants including nine foreign nationals were killed in a drone strike by foreign troops in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Sunday.

The incident took place on Saturday night in Khogyani district, killing a dozen of insurgents, the governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zai Abdulzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Lt. Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal said the unmanned aircraft targeted a group of insurgents in the Khogyani district, killing a dozen of militants, including nine foreign nationals.

Noor Rahman, a Talibaninfo-icon designated district chief for Khogyani and another commander Syed Jan were among the slain rebels, he said adding civilians suffered no casualties in the air attack.

There has been no word from the Taliban about the latest strike.
