Spinghar Lions honoured for winning major cricket event
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Nangarhar Governor Salim Khan Kunduzi and other provincial officials have commended the Spinghar Loins for winning the domestic T20 tournament.
A special ceremony was arranged at the governor’s house late on Monday when Spinghar Lions were awarded with medals and other prizes. Kunduzi greeted the team members and people of the eastern zone.
Last week, the Alokozay Spinghar Lions clinched the title of the biggest annual cricketing contest at the Kabul International Stadium.
They outplayed the Mashal Kabul Eagles in the final of the T-20 event -- called Shpageeze (Sixes) Tournament -- featuring six leading teams.
Because of rains, the technical committee decided to scrap the semi-finals. The finalists were chosen on the basis of the points won.
