Germany to deploy 130 more troops to Afghanistan
The announcement came on Wednesday when the cabinet met to discuss support for the Afghan security forces, which have been struggling to stem the tide of the Taliban-linked violence.
Currently, 850 German troops remain in the conflict-wrecked country in the framework of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission to train Afghan security forces.
In September, German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen indicated her country might delay the pullout of military personnel from Afghanistan beyond 2016.
