Private university chancellor killed by friend in Lashkargah
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A municipality worker, who also owned a private university, has been killed by a friend in southern Helmand province, an official said on Wednesday.
Abdul Samad Tobagar, the university chancellor, was killed on Tuesday night with pickaxe by Abdul Jabbar in his room, the deputy police chief for Helmand said.
Col. Shakoor Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News Tobagar was beaten in his head. Police have launched a search for Abdul Jabbar.
Lashkargah Mayor Mohammad Fazil Safi said Tobagar was the sector section head of the municipality, where he had been working with the over the past few years.
