Taliban’s shadow district chief among 6 detained in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): National Directorate of Security (NDS) agents have arrested six suspected insurgents, including Taliban’s administrative chief for Khoshi district of central Logar province, an official said on Wednesday.
The individuals were detained during overnight raidsin Koji and Brag localities of the district by the intelligence operatives, Salim Saleh, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He identified the Taliban district chief as Hamidullah. Alam Jan and Mullah Hanif, the group’s notorious commanders, were also held during the swoop. A walkie-talkie, a motorcycle and some explosives were recovered from the rebels.
Meanwhile, Capt. Matiullah Abdul Rahimzai, police chief for Mohammad Agha district, said one NDS officials was killed and two others were wounded in a traffic accident while returning from the raid.
He said their vehicle crashed into a passenger car in Zahidabad area. Civilian suffered no casualties in the accident, the police officer added.
