8 Afghan soldiers, child wounded in Faryab accident
MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Eight Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and an 11-year-old child have been wounded in a road accident in the northern province of Faryab, officials said on Thursday.
The mishap occurred on Wednesday evening when a military vehicle traveling from the provincial capitalto Almar district,flipped over near the main provincial prison.
An ANA officer,speaking on condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News five soldiers and an 11-year-old child had sustained injuries in the incident.
Acting Public HeHHHhhalth Director Dr. Maroof Samar confirmed the accident, saying nine wounded people had been brought to hospital.One of them is said to be in a critical condition.
Second Lieutenant Ahamd Farid, head of the accidents section at the traffic department, said the driver lost control and the speeding vehicle flipped over.
