Respect for law stabilises society, say academics
HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Professors and Higher Education Ministry officials, attending a meeting in this capital city of western Herat province, on Thursday said respect for law could pave the way for a stable society.
The first every academic meeting titled “peace, national construction and political system” brought together academics, professors from different universities and Higher Education Ministry officials to explore ways how to reach peace in accordance with the national Constitution.
“We want to evaluate access to peace in accordance with the Constitution and also the responsiveness of the law for the necessity of Afghans,” dean of law and political science faculty, Gulam Shah Adel, said in his address to the meeting.
Deputy Higher Education Minister associate professor Abdul Rahim Husainian respect to the law could pave the way for stability in the country and his ministry was trying ensure the rule of law through creating awareness about problems especially in sphere of the Constitution.
Professor Mohammad Anwar Shams, advisor to the higher education minister, said nothing had been done so far to reach permanent peace in the country.
He said lecturers and professors could play a crucial role in bringing peace to the country and every professor should daily contact their students and advise them regarding peace in every lecture.
