5 Afghans killed in Syria war buried in Iran, says report
KABUL (Pajhwok): Five Afghan refugees, who were killed in the Syrian conflict, have been buried in neighbouring Iran, a media report said on Friday.
The Afghans, aged between 19 to 21years, were allegedly part of a group of refugees and Iran had sent to Syria, in support of President Bashar al-Assad.
Radio Farda reported the men had been laid to rest in Tehran and Damavand. In August, 3,500 Afghans were said to be fighting alongside Assad’s forces.
Besides receiving $700 in monthly salary, the Afghan fighters have also been offered Iranian residency permit.They are fighting both for Assad and the Islamic State.
