Kabul, Moscow talk military cooperation against terror
KABUL (Pajhwok): National Security Advisor Hanif Atmar on Saturday insisted on a joint anti-terrorism struggle of neighbouring and regional countries.
National Security Council (NSC) spokesman Tawab Ghorzang told Pajhwok Afghan News Atmar expressed these views during a meeting on Saturday with Russian Ambassador Alexander Mantytskiy in Kabul.
The two officials discussed relations between the two countries and Russia’s military cooperation with Afghanistan and the anti-terrorism struggle, he said.
Atmar said there was a great need for an anti-terrorism fight on national and international level and neighbouring and regional countries should strictly assist the struggle.
Mantytskiy once again reaffirmed his country’s support in the anti-terrorism campaign of the Afghan government, saying they were ready to support peace and security in Afghanistan.
According to Ghorzang, both officials also discussed Russia’s military cooperation with Afghanistan.
