Arrest warrant issued for ALP commander
MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The police chief for northern Balkh province on Sunday said he had issued an arrest warrant for an Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander over allegedly attacking a house.
Balkh police chief Maj. Gen. Syed Kamal Sadat told a press conference here that after the incident, an arrest warrant for the local commander was issued and an investigation team sent to the area.
Sadat was addressing the press conference in connection with the sizure of 48 kilograms of opium from a truck.
He said four people had been arrested in connection with the drug smuggling.
Another two persons were detained separately on the charge of trafficking five kilograms of hashish in the province, he said.
