Private TV channel head killed in Kabul; two suspects held
KABUL (Pajhwok): The head of an independent television channel has been killed in Karta-i-Naw neighbourhood of Kabul, an official said on Monday.
Asia TV channel recently started transmissions in Herat, Balkh and Nangarhar provinces of the country.
Attaee’s brother-in-law Ajmal and sister-in-law’s husband Baryalay Rahmani were detained on charge of the murder on the basis of initial investigations, the Kabul crime branch chief, Brig. Gen. Faridoon Obaidi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said initial investigations showed the victim’s brothers-in-law Baryalai Rahmani and Ajmal were involved in his killing.
They were drunk when police arrested them after the murder, the official added. Baryalay is deputy director of the fuel control department at the Ministry of Commerece and Industries.
The motive behind the murder was yet to be clear, Obaidi said.
