India to construct cricket stadium in Jalalabad
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Indian consult general on Saturday promised his country would construct an international cricket stadium and three bridges in eastern Nangarhar province, a local official said.
The governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, said Governor Saleem Khan Kunduzi met with Indian consul general Dhirendra Singh in Jalalbad.
“Besides the cricket stadium, the Indian consul general also promised the construction of three bridges in Jalaabad to help ease crowds and some other projects in the city,” Khogyani said.
Governor Kunduzi also sought Indian assistance for construction of buildings for girls’ school in Jalalabad.
Singh promised he would share proposals of the projects with the Indian ambassador in Kabul and try for their approval. He also pledged sending some youth from Nangarhar for higher education to India.
