Explosives-laden car seized, destroyed in Uruzgan: police
TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Security forces destroyed an explosives-laden vehicle after seizing it before reaching target in the capital of central Uruzgan province, police said on Sunday.
The explosives-laden car was confiscated last night in Tori area of Tirinkot, the provincial capital, and later destroyed, provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the car’s driver had been arrested and that the vehicle carried hundreds of kilograms of explosives. He said the detained person wanted to enter the vehicle into the city. The seizure came in light of a tip-off provided by local residents, the police chief said, urging local residents to continue cooperating with security forces in thwarting such terrorist incidents.
