1,400 volunteers to join army after training
KABUL (Pajhwok): As many as 1400 volunteers would join the regular army on completing a two months training at the Kabul Military Academy, an official said on Saturday.
Deputy recruitment commander at the Ministry of Defence, Lt. Col. Sherin Aqa told Pajhwok Afghan News the trainees were residents of Kabul and provinces and they had voluntarily joined the training academy to defend the country.
Aqa told the trainees that Afghanistan needed them in defending the country after being professionally trained.
He asked the youth to benefit the most from resources available at the training academy. He said many people wanted to join the army but they preferred those not involved in suspicious activities and addiction to drugs.
The strength of the Afghan army has reached 195,000 personnel.
