3 women killed, as many teens injured in Baghlan blast
PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Three women were killed and two teenage girls and a young boy sustained injuries on Tuesday when an unexploded mortar shell went off in the Baghlan-i-Markazi district of northern Baghlan province, officials said.
Deputy police chief, Col. Abdul Rasheed told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place at around 2pm when some women attempted to cut open a mortar shell that exploded, killing three women and injuring a boy and two girls in the Mullakhel village.
The injured included a 12-year-old boy, a 14 and a 18-year-old girls. The bodies and the injured have been shifted to the district hospital, said emergency ward head, Dr. Khalil Naramgo. He said both the girls were in a critical condition.
