Afghanistan win U-19 cricket series against Zimbabwe
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan under-19 cricket team on Tuesday won a three-match one-dayer series against Zimbabwe by registering a second victory in a row in New Delhi, the Indian capital, an official said.
Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News the Zimbabwe under-19 team won the toss and chose to field in the 50 overs game. The Afghans piled up 237 runs for the loss of nine wickets, with Ikramullah hitting his half century (56) and Karim Jannat contributing 31 runs to his side.
The Zimbabwe team could not achieve the target and were bundled out for 192 in the 43rd over. For Afghanistan, Zahir Khan clinched four wickets, Rashid Arman two and Jannat two. Zahir Khan was declared the man of the match.
It was the second match between the sides and Afghanistan have won the first match and today’s victory earned Afghanistan the series 2-0.
