U-19s cricket: Afghanistan too good for Zimbabwe
The Zimbabweans won the toss and invited the Afghans to bat first in the 50 overs game, according to Farid Hotak, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman.
He said the Afghanistan team scored 267 runs for the loss of all wickets and set the rivals 268 runs target, with Naveed Obaid (62), Ihsanullah (51) and Wahidullah (51) hitting their half centuries. Tariq contributed 37 runs to his side.
Chasing the target, the Zimbabweans could not stand ground against the Afghan bowlers and were all out for just 108 runs, thanks to Tariq and Nijat Massoud’s four wickets haul each. Mohammad Zahir clinched two wickets.
It was Afghanistan’s fourth victory against Zimbabwe.
