5 killed, 9 wounded in separate traffic accidents
QALAT/JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Five persons were killed and nine others wounded in two separate traffic accidents in eastern Nangarhar and southern Zabul provinces, officials said on Sunday.
Four persons were killed and half a dozen were wounded on Sunday afternoon in a collision between a 303 public transport bus and a trailer on the Kabul-Kandahar highway near Qalat, the capital of Zabul, the provincial public health director said.
Dr. Lal Mohammad told Pajhwok Afghan News the passenger bus was heading to Kabul from Kandahar when collided head-on with the trailer, killing four persons and injuring six others. He said ambulances had been sent to the area.
Elsewhere, one person was killed and another three wounded in a traffic accident on the Kabul-Torkham highway in Nangarhar.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News an ambulance carrying a dead body from Torkham border town to Jalalabad, the provincial capital, crashed into a trailer in Ghazgi area of Momand Dara district on Sunday noon.
He said one person in the ambulance was killed and another three were wounded.
