War-affected farmers in Kunduz receive forage
KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The forage distribution process benefitting more than 1000 war-affected famers in northern Kunduz province has been set in motion, officials said on Monday.
A total of 100 tonnes of animal feed would be distributed to the farmers in the six districts and capital of Kunduz during the process.
Each grower, having two cows and 10 goats, would receive one feeding pack, said the extension manager at the agriculture department, Abdul Baseer Faqiri.
The feeds were provided by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) as part of assistance to the war-affected farmers after the collapse of Kunduz City.
A grower from Chardara district, Mohammad Omar, said he had lost his five cattle heads due to the lack of feed, but this winter the forage would help him keep his 80 animals alive.
