5 detained in connection with Kabul rocket strike

Dec 22, 2015 - 10:29

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior affairs (MoI) on Tuesday said five suspected individuals had been detained in connection with firing rockets into the capital Kabul.

MoI deputy spokesman Najibullah Danish told Pajhwok Afghan News two rockets fired from the eighth police district landed in the second and 10th districts on Monday night.

He said the incident caused no casualties or financial losses. Police had detained five suspects in connection with the incident in limits of the eighth police district last night, Danish added.

As usual, the Talibaninfo-icon claimed responsibility for the attacks. The group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the rockets targeted a NATOinfo-icon base and the US embassy in the second and 10th districts.

He said that incident inflicted casualties on a number of foreigners but he did not have exact figures. But the ministry denied the Taliban claim.
