Afghanistan, Latvia agree to boost civil aviation cooperation
KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan and Latvian officials have discussed a draft agreement on aviation cooperation, the Independent Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) said on Tuesday.
ICAA head Capt. Hamid Zahir and Denis MurriRandsin, the Latvian deputy minister of transport, met in Kabul and talked on issues of mutual interest.
Zahir told visiting Latvian officials Afghanistan wanted to expand cooperation with the international community on transport of goods and services through its airspace.
In a statement, the ICAA signalled its willingness to sign agreements of cooperation with Latvia, which expressed its eagerness to sign agreements with Afghanistan.
The draft agreement had been dispatched to the foreign minister for necessary procedures and vetting, the statement added.
