Dec 22, 2015 - 20:26

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Five Talibaninfo-icon militants have been killed during separate incidents in eastern Nangarhar and Laghman provinces, officials said on Tuesday.

Three militants associated with Saifuddin group were killed in a NATOinfo-icon drone strike in Ghanikhel district on Tuesday at about 3pm, Nangarhar police spokesman Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News.

In Laghman, two suspected militants were killed in a blast caused by their own explosives in Alingar district last night, the provincial government spokesman, Sarhadi Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the slain persons were shifting the landmine to the provincial capital, Mehtarlam, when it prematurely went off in Salingar area on Monday night. He said one of the two persons was identified as Asad whose head was only found and the second could not be recognized.
