Rebel commander among 6 killed in Balochistan clashes
PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Four suspected militants and two paramilitary troops were killed during search operations in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan on Wednesday.
Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were killed during an exchange of gunfire with insurgents in the Balnagoor area of Turbat district, a spokesman for the paramilitary force said.
During a security operation against the militants involved in attacks in various parts of Kech area, six fighters of an outlawed organisation were killed, the official told Dawn.Com.
Security forces also seized weapons from the miscreants, he said, adding intelligence agencies and FC personnel conducted an operation in Kalat district.
A key rebel commander was killed during the operation, according to the FC spokesman, who said the commander belonged to a banned militant organisation.
