3 foreign rebels blown up by own explosives in Badakhshan
FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Three foreign insurgents and one Afghan militant have been killed by their own explosives in the Warduj district of northeastern Badakhshan province, officials said on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday evening when the Taliban were planting a roadside bomb near the Warduj district building, the town’s administrative head, Daulat Mohammad Khawar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Recently the district fell to Taliban.The insurgents intended to detonate the bomb as the district police chief and his subordinates reached the office complex to retake the building. The bomb went off as themilitants were planting it.
Three foreign terrorists and a local militant were killed, the district chief said.
But deputy police chief, Col. Sakhi Dad Haidari, said three foreigners were killed and five other fighters wounded in the blast.
