6 of a family killed in Kunar; Taliban deny involvement
ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Six members of a family were killed by militants in the Narai district of eastern Kunar province, an official said on Sunday.
Provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel, told Pajhwok afghan News at least one woman was injured in the overnight incident.
He said the family had no links with the government.Bahadar Shah, originally from the Kamdesh district of Nuristan, had come to the district last year.
Mohammad Yousuf, the administrative head of the town, said: “Bahadar Shah had differences with Nuristan-based Taliban. As a result, he migrated to Kunar.”
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said they were not involved the incident. “I talked to our people in the district, but they denied attacking anyone last night.”
