Policemen among 4 dead in Helmand bombing
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Two policemen and as many civilians have been killed as a result of a roadside bombing in the southern province of Helmand, officials said on Sunday.
The incident took place at around noon when a police vehicle patrolling the 3rd police district of Lashkargah, the provincial capital, struck the bomb.
Omer Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News two civilians and two policemen were killed in the explosion.
Police spokesman 2nd Lt. Shah Mahmud Ashna confirmed the incident, saying one civilian and two policemen were killed in the blast.
No one has been detained so far in connection with the blast, but police have launched an investigation into the incident.
