8 tonnes of hashish seized by NDS, set alight in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Intelligence operatives have seized and set alight eight tonnes of hashish in central Logar province, officials said on Tuesday.
Saleem Saleh, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the hashish was recovered in the Al-Taimor area on the outskirts of the provincial capital.
Meanwhile, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said its agents had also seized 460 kilograms of other drugs in areas around Pul-i-Alam.
The intelligence personnel also recovered a motorbike and 11 Kalashnikov magazines during the raids, a statement from the spy service said.
According to Saleh, the NDS operatives also recovered 300 kilograms of drugs on the Kabul-Gardez highway on Monday night. However, no arrests were made.
