Resolute Support denounces Kabul suicide bombing
The suicide bombing left one person dead and 33 others injured, including 20 children. A Taliban group claimed responsibility for this attack, which targeted civilians.
“A Taliban group has once again targeted defenseless Afghan civilians, showing their complete disregard for the Afghan people,” said a Resolute Support spokesperson.
Brig. Gen. Wilson Shoffner said in a statement: “On behalf of Gen. Campbell, our thoughts are with the victims of this attack, their families and friends.”
He accused the Taliban of typically attacking places with a high density of innocent people, the leading cause of civilian casualties in Afghanistan.
Resolute Support expressed its condolences to the families of those killed and wounded in the attack. “We will continue our efforts to train, advise and assist the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces as they provide stability for the Afghan people and counter the Taliban groups...”
