35 militants killed in last 24 hours: MoD
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Friday said 35 militants have been killed and several others injured during joint operations by Afghan forces in Nangarhar, Ghazni and Maidan Wardak provinces.
A MoD statement received by Pajhwok Afghan News said the operations conducted over the past 24 hours involved personnel from the Afghan National Army (ANA) and other security forces.
The raids resulted in the killing of at least 35 militants and injuries to as many others and 10 more were detained, the statement said.
The operations were launched in Achin district of Nangarhar, Deh Yak and Ab-Band districts of Ghazni and Chak district of Maidan Wardak provinces.
The forces also seized a large cache of weapons and ammunition and defused several roadside bombs, the statement said, confirming the killing of four ANA service members and sustaining injuries by another 14 personnel during clashes with militants.
No militant group has commented in this regard as yet.
