Jan 02, 2016 - 17:42

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Suspected Talibaninfo-icon militants have killed two of the eight people they kidnapped on Friday in western Farah province, officials said on Saturday.

The eight persons were kidnapped from Kafir Kala area on the outskirts of Farah City where they had gone for sightseeing, a former member of the provincial council, Abdul Hameed Hameed, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The insurgents had released the remaining six people, but they killed Ihsamuddin, son of a former Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon member Ainuddin and a former provincial council candidate Mohammad Arif Mohammadi. Their dead bodies were found on Saturday in Khurmaliq area of the city, Hameed said.

Mohammadi had recently graduated from the law faculty of a private university and Ihsanuddin, a high school graduate, was preparing for the university entry test (Kankor), he said adding that both the victims were from Purchaman district of the province.

The two dead bodies with bullet holes have been brought to the civil hospital, head of Farah Civil Hospital, Dr. Abdul Hakim Rasuli, said.

Neither Taliban nor any other group has so far claimed responsibility for the killings.
