5 Pakistani Taliban killed in Kunar drone strike
ASADABAD/TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Five Pakistani Taliban have been killed in a US drone strike in Shegal district of eastern Kunar province, the governor said on Saturday.
The strike was carried out in Chogam locality of Shaltan valley and the slain persons included Pakistani Taliban commander, Ghazi, Wahidullah Kalimzai told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The area is situated close to the Durand Line where drone strikes often target militants.
Separately, two Taliban were killed during a clash with security forces in central Uruzgan province, officials said. The clash happened on the Uruzgan-Kandahar highway in Kata Sang locality.
Police also arrested three people in Tirinkot, the provincial capital, and recovered weapons and ammunition from their possession.
