Samangan coalmines revenue down by 39.8m afs
AIBAK (Pajhwok): The revenue from three coalmines in northern Samangan province declined by more than 39.8 million afghanis and plummeted to 2.1 billion afs in 2015 fiscal year, compared to last year’s income.
The financial year of Afghanistan starts on 22nd of December.
Coal enterprise head in the north, Eng. Abdul Jabar Hamidi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the revenue of the three coal mines in Dara-i-Sauf Bala, Dara-i-Sauf Pain and Aabkhorak of Roi Doab districts had declined due to the decrease in demand of coal in the country.
The revenue from three other coalmines of Dara-i-Sauf Bala district has not been counted in the annual revenue because the mines have been given to the private sector on lease through the Ministry of Mines, the governor’s spokesman said.
Mohammad Siddique Azizi told Pajhwok Afghan News that the annual revenue from the mines was hundreds of millions of afghanis.
Nearly 10000 people have been working in coal extraction in nearly 300 tunnels of the coalmines and dozens of vehicles are used in transferring coal to different parts of the country from the mines, he said.
