2 kidnapped Afghan soldiers found dead in Ghazni
GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Two Afghan National Army soldiers were found dead near the provincial capital of southern Ghazni province on Monday, a week after they had been kidnapped by Taliban militants, police said.
Provincial deputy police chief Asadullah Shujai told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban had kidnapped five ANA soldiers about a week back in Andar district.
He said the bodies of two of the kidnapped soldiers were found in Asfandi area of Ghazni City, the provincial capital.
“According to our information, all the five soldiers have been killed, but we found the bodies of only two,” he said.
A taxi driver in Ghazni City, Ahmadullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News he saw the dead bodies dumped on the side of the road in Asfandi area and informed the police. He said the slain soldiers had their hands and legs broken and were in a bad condition.
Provincial civil hospital director Dr. Baz Mohammad Himmat confirmed receiving the two dead bodies at the hospital.
