Female Daesh suspect detained in Jalalabad
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three suspected Daesh or Islamic State (IS) affiliates, including a female, her minor son and brother, have been detained by police in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Monday.
The three were detained on Sunday evening in Jalalabad, the provincial capital, Nangarhar police chief Maj. Gen. Fazal Ahmad Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said a magnetic bomb and other ammunition had been recovered from the detainees. The magnetic mine had been given to the woman by a Daesh commander.
The commander had told the woman that he would take back the mine from her soon, Sherzad said, quoting confessions by the arrested woman.
The police also said a Taliban fighter had been arrested in Hada area of Behsud district. He said police had been chasing him since recovering some arms and ammunition from his house during a raid.
