Nangarhar’s revenue reaches 13.3b afs, up 15pc
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Revenue amounting to 13.3 billion afghanis has been collected in 2015 financial year in eastern Nangarhar province, showing a 15 percent increase, an official said on Monday.
Revenue department head Mohammad Alam Ishaqzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the 13.3 billion afs revenue was collected between Dec. 22, 2014 and Dec. 21, 2015) --- the fiscal year.
He said the income increased due to proper management and capacity development of the revenue department’s staff.
He said if the department was equipped with sophisticated systems, Nanagahar’s revenue would increase by 50 percent next year.
Despite ban on mining in Nangarhar over the past year in compliance with a presidential decree, the provincial revenue has increased, he said.
He said attempts by some people to evade taxes had been thwarted in close coordination with security organs.
