President Obama briefed on deadly attack in Marja district
WASHINGTON (Pajhwok): President Barack Obama has been briefed on a terrorist attack that cause American soldiers at least three casualties, the White House said on Tuesday.
The incident in the Marja district of southern Helmand province, where one US soldier was killed and two others were injured, underscoredAfghanistan continues to be a dangerous place.
“The president has been briefed” on the attack in Afghanistan, White House Press SecretaryJosh Earnesttold reporters at his daily news conference.“This does underscore that Afghanistan is a dangerous place.”
Brig. Gen. Wilson A. Shoffner, spokesman for the US forces in Afghanistan, said:"We are deeply saddened by this loss. On behalf of Gen. Campbell, our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families and friends of those involved."
