3 policemen dead in Faryab, Badakhshan attacks
MAIMANA/FIAZABAD (Pajhwok): Three policemen have been killed in separate attacks in northern Faryab Badakhshan provinces, officials said on Thursday.
The Taliban killed two policemen on the Qaisar-Ghormach highway and took away their weapons, the Qaisar district chief, Rahmatullah Qaisari,told Pajhwok Afghan News.
However, the insurgents said they had killed two tribal militiamen in the Qaisar district of Faryab.
Separately, an Afghan Local Police (ALP) member was killed and two civilians were wounded in a roadside bombing in the Kasham district of Badakhshan.
The Badakhshan deputy police chief, Col. Sakhi Dad Haidari said one ALP vehicle was destroyed in the blast and the injured were rushed to the district hospital.
However, the Taliban published said in a statement on their website that seven militiamen, including their commander Zakir, were killed and four others injured in the blast.
