NATO to equip Afghan forces with more than 100 Humvees
The first batch of over 100 HMMWVs has already reached the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan’s Security Assistance Office, the mission tweeted on Thursday.
Afghan armed forces will also receive 55 Mobile Strike Force vehicles under a contract by the US Department of Defense (DoD). The vehicles will be built by Textron Marine & Land Systems.
Based in New Orleans, the company was awarded a $56,176,864 firm-fixed-price foreign military sales (Afghanistan) contract for 55 Mobile Strike Force vehicles with related hardware and field service representative services for system de-processing.
