Policeman among 2 dead in Baghlan, Faryab incidents
PUL-I-KHUMRI/MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A service-memeber of Special Police Force Unite and activist of the Jumbish-i-Melli Islami political party have been killed in northern Baghlan and northwestern Faryab provinces, officials said on Sunday.
Syed Luqman Gharik, district administrative chief of Sherin Tagab, said Zainullah, 25, the member of Jumbish-i-Islami was gunned down by two motorcyclists Taliban. The reason of his killing was yet to be identified.
Zainullah Zaki, head the district council, said Zainullah was killed by the Taliban at times when he was repairing a culvert in his village. Taliban have not commented over the incident.
Separately, a policeman was killed during an overnight clash in the Dushi district of Baghlan province, Gen. Farooq Ahmadi, commander for the 209th Shahin Military Corps 3rd brigade, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
But Taliban claimed three policemen had been killed in the gun battle.
