Own bomb kills commander among 4 rebels in Ghazni
GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A commander was among four Taliban militants killed in a blast caused by their own explosives in Andar district of southern Ghazni province on Tuesday, police said.
The dead included commander Qari Hikmat and his three comrades, provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amerkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.
“Qari Hikmat went to a house in Kalakhel area where he wanted to make a bomb, but it went off, killing him and his three fighters,” he said.
A resident of the area, Mohammad Gul, confirmed the deaths, saying two rooms and a hall of the house had destroyed in the blast.
A woman in the house was also injured, but her condition was stated to be stable, he said.
The Taliban have so far issued no comment regarding the explosion.
