Commander among 3 ALP men killed in Ghazni blast
GHAZNI (Pajhwok): An Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander and his two bodyguards were killed in a roadside bombing in Qarabagh district of southern Ghazni province on Wednesday, an official said.
Ghazni’s deputy police chief Asadullah Shujai told Pajhwok Afghan News ALP Mohammad Ismail was on a patrol in Shir Kala area on Wednesday noon when came under attack.
“The roadside bomb was planted by insurgents,” he said, adding that civilians escaped unhurt in the blast.
An eyewitness Mohammad Akbar said the ALP commander was patrolling in a ranger pick-up with his companions when a landmine ripped through their vehicle.
No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
