President himself pursuing Behsud family murder case
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday said he himself was pursuing the gruesome murder of eight family members in Behsud district of eastern Nangarhar province, assuring a judicial session on the incident next week.
The family of eight had been found mysteriously dead in their house in Mirzad Qala area of the district on December 14.
The dead included Yousaf, his mother, wife and five children as young as two months and five years old.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said President Ghani was investigating the incident on his own.
The case is currently sub-judice in the primary court and a public judicial hearing in the case would be held in Nangarhar’s urban court next Sunday (January 17), the statement said.
Ghani emphasized any kind of negligence was unacceptable in investigating the case and asked all judicial organs to act seriously on such cases and enforce justice on the perpetrators.
Security personnel had arrested nine people, including a nephew of Yousaf, Imran Khan, who had confessed to killing the family with the help of his friend. Imran Khan had told his interrogators that he and his friend went to his uncle’s home and killed all of his family members.
