Military commanders discuss Af-Pak border security
KABUL (Pajhwok): Top Afghan and Pakistani military commanders have conferred on the need for greater cooperation between the two countries.
Pakistan Army’s Military Operations Director General Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met his Afghan counterpart during a daylong visit on Wednesday.
In Islamabad, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the military officials discussed ways to improve coordination for effective border management.
They also reviewed modalities of meetings of corps commanders and sector commanders of the two countries, an ISPR statement said.
On December 30, shortly after Pakistan Army chie Gen. Raheel Sharif’s visit to Kabul, the two sides made a hotline contact to discuss matters of mutual interest.
Emphasising the need to improve bilateral relations, it was decided to establish the hotline contact between the DGMOs of both countries.
