103 prison officials appointed for Kabul, provinces
KABUL (Pajhwok): Interior Minister Noorul Haq Ulumi on Monday said 103 prison officials had been appointed for Kabul and provinces.
The minister told a meeting in Kabul that experienced and professional jail officials had been appointed for better management of prisons in the country.
“Sometimes we receive reports about violations and violence in jails, but it is your responsibility to honestly deal with inmates in accordance with the laws,” he told the officers.
He asked the officials not to violate legal rights of detainees. “There are not only criminals involved in petty crimes in jails, but there are criminals of international level.”
Ulumi said the country’s enemies were trying to find ways to help escape hardcore criminals from prisons. “So you have to be more attentive to them,” he advised the officials.
