Man, woman axed to death in Herat City
HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A man and a woman have been found axed to death in western Herat province, hospital sources said on Tuesday.
Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, spokesman for the Herat Zonal Hospital, told Pajhwok Afghan News the bodies of a man and a woman had been brought to the hospital form Shedaei locality of Herat City, the provincial capital. He said initial medical examination showed an axe had been used in killing the two.
Police spokesman Abdul Rauf Ahmadi said the man and the woman had been killed inside a house and the reason behind their murder was yet to be known.
Hospital sources said they had been delivered 10 dead bodies of women after being murdered for different reasons since March.
Some people said insurgents had a presence in Shedai area where the man and the woman had been axed to death.
